Wyclef Jean emerged back into the forefront last year as one of the main organizers of relief efforts following the Haitian earthquake that killed over 200,000 people.  Through his foundation Yele he campaigned for $5 donations from anyone who could spare the expense, roughly raking in an estimated $16 million.  Now the New York Post is reporting that a large amount of that money is now missing!

The Post reports that some of the money was used for relief efforts but other monies were diverted to fake businesses, TV stations controlled by Jean, and other conspicous dealings.  Yele has come under fire before, losing more than $244,000 in 2009.  Here is a quote taken from Wyclef Jean:

“Have we made mistakes before? Yes,” Jean said. “Did I ever use Yele money for personal benefits? Absolutely not. Yele’s books are open and transparent.”

What do you think? Should Wyclef give money back or is this the media going after him? Leave your comments below, and check out the story via Blackmediascoop.com here
