GEAUGA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) –

The 17-year-old accused of killing three and injuring two of his classmates at Chardon High School will be back before a judge this afternoon.

TJ Lane is charged with three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault for the student snipped in the ear.

The shootings occurred just before the start of classes last Monday in the area of the High School’s cafeteria.

17-year-old Russell King, Jr., 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor and 16-year-old Demetrius Hewlin were killed. 17-year-old Nick Walczak has been transferred from Hillcrest Hospital to MetroHealth Medical Center for intensive rehabilitation. Nick was shot several times, and family members say he has no feeling in his legs. 18-year-old Joy Rickers has been released from the hospital.

Geauga County Prosecutors filed court papers Monday to limit new information about Lane. They are trying to block media access to any records that deal with abuse, neglect or dependency in his family.

Prosecutors will not acknowledge any of those records exist, but they argue Lane is already under “public scrutiny” and any release of those records “would only magnify the situation for him and his relatives.”
