Reality television is dominating home audiences nationwide, exposing audiences to all kinds of lifestyles, including the relationships and lives of women in Hip Hop.

In a Singersroom interview with “Love & Hip Hop” creator Mona Scott-Young, she explained that the expansion of reality television is really about opening the life of others to the world, with few boundaries. But it doesn’t come without its challenges.

“When you sign on to do a reality show you are saying you are the kind of person that does not mind having every area of their life documented and shown for the world to see,” Mona told Singersroom. “I think that calls for a specific person or personality type. I don’t know if I am cut out for that or that I could have cameras following me all day but there are people that are okay with opening their lives up and sharing their lives that way.”
