The mainstream media is now looking into a story that drug dealers murdered singer Whitney Houston.

The story was published by the National Enquirer , a tabloid magazine.

The Enquirer asserts that a man named Paul Huebl, a Los Angeles private investigator, is turning over evidence he found to the FBI field office in Chicago.

Huebl said an unnamed person hired him to look into Houston’s death.

Houston was found dead in the bathtub of her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton on Feb. 11, 2011. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office reported the cause of death as drowning and drug use. Cocaine and several narcotics were found in her system. Cause of death is listed as “accidental.”

Huebl allegedly discovered hotel surveillance video, showing two unidentified men in the hotel lobby on various occasions; then video of them gaining access to Houston’s room before she was found dead.

Huebl told the National Enquirer he discovered that Houston owed a lot of money to drug suppliers, and that her murder may have been arranged to send a message or to level the score.

Huebl has a LinkedIn page and appears to run his own blog, which can be viewed at: http://selfdefensepi.blogspot.com/ .

No law enforcement organization has confirmed any of these allegations yet.
