CLEVELAND HEIGHTS – Steps Boutique on Cedar Road in Cleveland Heights sells one-of-a-kind shoes.
But their collection took a hit early Sunday morning when two thieves broke into the store and ran away with several sneakers, according to police.
“They basically broke the glass and quickly came in and stole the shoes and shirts. They took a left and right [shoe] from the LeBron MVP Pack. I think they took them so fast they didn’t realize they had one of each,” said Leon Boyd, with PMK Customs.
The thieves also managed to get away with a pair of Lebron James Camo Foamposite shoes, as well as shirts and hats.
The owner estimates the value over $10,000.
The owner did not want to go on camera, but his loyal customers did.
Boyd is a long-time client and friend who said the robbery not only hurts the store, but the community.
“His wife is pregnant, they are expecting their first child. Them taking from them is coming out of their personal pockets. They aren’t funded by Nike, Reebok or Puma or no major company,” added Boyd.
While the owner has turned over surveillance video to police. He is offering a cash reward for any information on the robbery.
