MINERAL CITY, Ohio – The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has confirmed that a tornado hit Mineral City Wednesday.
They said they have a crew there now assessing the damage to determine how strong it was and the path it took.
The Mineral City Fire Department in Tuscarawas County is a total loss after the storms tore through on Wednesday.
High winds nearly leveled the building and severely damaged the department’s trucks, fire officials said.
No one was injured.

ROWSBURG, Ohio – The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Ashland County near Rowsburg Wednesday night.
They said there was evidence of a weak EF0 tornado near the intersection of County Roads 1302 and 251.
A barn was toppled by a combination of straight line and tornadic winds, which left five animals dead and others injured.
The damage path inflicted by the tornado was no more than 15 yards wide but damage caused by straight line downburst winds was more than a quarter mile in width at times, according to the NWS report.
