BEREA, OH (WOIO) –
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell made his annual trek to Browns training camp on Thursday, and made it clear he’s in Jimmy Haslam’s corner.
While Goodell repeatedly dodged questions about possibly disciplining the Browns owner, who remains under investigation by federal authorities following a rebate scandal with his Pilot Flying J truck stops, the commissioner did say that he’s pleased with the way Haslam has responded to this situation.
As for being a commissioner who has punished players in the past who were merely accused, not convicted, Goodell said team owners are actually held to a higher standard than players, and he’s confident Haslam will continue to be a great owner for the Browns.
