According to ABC News, Kraft Food Groups is voluntarily recalling more than 7,000 cases of Kraft American Singles. The company says a supplier’s “out-of-standard storage temperatures” for one of the cheese’s ingredients is the reason for the recall.

Four different types of Kraft American Singles are being recalled. Kraft says to look for the “best when used by” dates of February 20, 2015 and February 21, 2015 to identify a product that has been recalled.

“While unlikely, this could create conditions that could lead to premature spoilage and/or food borne illness; therefore the company is issuing the recall as a precaution,” wrote Kraft in the release.
The cheese was manufactured at a Kraft facility in Springfield, Mo., and was shipped across the country. The affected packages include 12-ounce, 16-ounce and 64-ounce products with a “best when used by” date of Feb. 20, 2015 or Feb. 21, 2015. A full list of the recalled products can be found online
There are no reports of anyone being sickened by the cheese, but Kraft is urging customers who purchased recalled Singles to return it to the store for a full refund.
