CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – Cincinnati Bengal’s Head Coach Marvin Lewis does not seem worried about who will be under center for Cleveland this Sunday.

When asked if he would two game plans ready against Cleveland, Lewis was clear that it does not matter who is playing quarterback.“That doesn’t impact you at all,” Lewis said in an interview on 700 WLW.

“You’ve got to go defend the offense, you don’t defend the player. Particularly, a midget.”

The last sentence is presumably a shot at former Heisman winning quarterback Johnny Manziel. Manziel is listed as six-feet-tall on the Browns’ official website. The quarterback controversy has heated up in Cleveland these past few weeks after two straight losses.

Lewis sent out a statement Monday in regard to the comments. “I apologize to Johnny, to the Browns and the fans of Cleveland. It was just a poor remark. I really didn’t mean anything by it,” Lewis said.
