CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –The street around the old National City bank building remained closed Tuesday afternoon. Bricks fell from the building during rush hour Monday afternoon, smashing one vehicle on East 6th Street near Vincent Avenue and causing quite a scare.

Officials say it was a masonry facade or parapet wall that actually fell.

Witnesses say a strong gust of wind hit around 4:15 p.m. when it happened.

The building is not occupied. According to engineers, after inspecting the building Tuesday morning no structural damage inside the building was found.

The new owners, Corning Place LLC bought it back in January. It is managed by Millennia Housing Management.
