#CAVS: LeBron James circa 2001 Talks About His Future

AKRON, Ohio — As LeBron James continues to break records during the NBA Finals, a 2001 10TV interview has been released from when he was a sophomore at St. Vincent-St. Mary’s High School.

Every day you have to go out there and work because someone will be out there working too, and if you stop, they can pass you up.

His long-term goal as a tenth grader? To be the best player in the NBA. At the time, he was the best sophomore basketball player in the country.

“Every day you have to go out there and work because someone will be out there working too, and if you stop, they can pass you up,” he said. “Every day, My coach pushes me, I push myself, my teammates push me. My mother brought me up real good…that helps me be level-headed.”
