CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
Former U.S. Congressman Louis Stokes, who died last week at the age of 90, was laid to rest Tuesday.
Hundreds lined up for the service at Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, located at 8712 Quincy Avenue in Cleveland.
Vice President Joe Biden attended the home-going celebration. Other political dignitaries included: Rep. Mary Rose Oakar, Rep. Dennis Kucinich, Sen. Rob Portman, Rep. Charlie Rangel, Ohio Atty. General Mike DeWine, Mayor Frank Jackson, Sen. Sherrod Brown, Toby Cosgrove, Rep. Marcia Fudge, Rep. Maxine Waters, Rep. Bobby Scott, Joyce Beatty and Rep. James Clyburn.
The burial service will be private.
