After facing months of continued scrutiny from the public, Rachel Dolezal is finally admitting that she was “biologically born white.”
The former head of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP sat down with the female hosts of The Real, where she was interrogated about identifying herself as an African-American women for years.
Jeannie Mai shared her thoughts with Dolezal, stating, “You weren’t born black ,so when you say you are black, it makes it hard for people to understand where you’re coming from.”
Dolezal responded by explaining, “Right, and that’s why I said, I acknowledge that I was biologically born white to white parents, but I identify as black.”
The controversy, which was sparked initially on social media, came after Dolezal’s biological parents revealed that she was born as a white person.
At the end of the summer, Dolezal stepped down from her position at the NAACP.
