DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
Two years ago, the Rice family and city of Cleveland were rocked by the news that 12-year-old Tamir Rice had been shot and killed. Tamir’s mother, Samaria Rice, has since settled a $6 million lawsuit with the city.
A probate court approved the settlement to the estate of Tamir Rice on Wednesday.
An application to appoint a trustee for the wrongful death trust was also filed Wednesday. The case title was “For the Benefit of Tajai Rice.”
Tajai is Tamir’s sister.
The two-year anniversary of the shooting just passed on Nov. 22.
