DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
Officials with the City Mission in Cleveland say they’ve started their “zero turn away” policy.
If it is 20 degrees or lower — or feels that temperature with the wind chill — they do not turn people away. They have cots, air mattresses, pillows, and blankets ready for extra people seeking shelter Wednesday night at both the men’s and women’s shelters.
Lake snow squalls are expected to ramp up Wednesday night, with wind chills possibly dipping to -5 degrees overnight. Temperatures are expected to be in the single digits Thursday.
The City Mission is located at 5310 Carnegie Ave.
