The bromance between President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden goes way beyond memes.

After the 2016 election, Barack faced the crisis results with presidential poise and balance, while Joe, on the other hand, was all of us.

As Obama delivered his speech, Joe was in the background doing the “sign of the cross” as if to say, “God help us all,” and the internet went wild.

Now we are learning their friendship goes way beyond quirky memes.

Jill Biden and First Lady Michelle Obama sat down for a candid conversation with PEOPLE about their husbands’ companionship.

They’ll go for long walks, looking into each other’s eyes,” joked the First Lady during the interview.

Jill Biden added, Barack and Joe “have a truly beautiful friendship.”

“And I don’t think we’ve really seen a lot of that, especially in politics,” she adds. “But I think they really love one another,” she continued.

Michelle explains that Biden has acted as a big brother to the 44th president, saying the pair finds “real joy” being together.

“It’s the best decision that Barack has made as President of the United States,” Michelle said of her husband.
