NBA YoungBoy Released from Prison Early

In a major development that has fans buzzing, NBA YoungBoy has officially been released from prison today, March 25, 2025—three months earlier than initially expected.

The rapper, whose legal name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, was originally set to be released on July 27, 2025, but his release date has now been moved up to April 26, 2025.

This early release comes after an amendment to his plea deal, a development that’s sure to have a ripple effect in the world of hip hop.

YoungBoy’s legal troubles began with charges related to gun possession and his involvement in a prescription medication fraud scheme.

After agreeing to a plea deal, he was handed a 23-month prison sentence, in addition to five years of probation and a $200,000 fine.

However, the terms of his plea deal were later modified, allowing YoungBoy to receive credit for time already served, which effectively shortened his sentence and led to his early release.

The news of NBA YoungBoy’s release today marks the conclusion of a tumultuous period in his life.

Despite a series of legal battles and public controversies, the rapper has maintained a loyal fanbase throughout his time behind bars.

Fans and the music industry alike have eagerly awaited his return, wondering what this new chapter will bring for the Louisiana native.

His early release certainly sets the stage for a comeback, and many are curious about how he will approach his career moving forward.

However, YoungBoy’s time in prison wasn’t without incident.

Earlier this week, Terrance “Gangsta” Williams, Birdman’s brother, revealed that YoungBoy had been placed in solitary confinement at FCI Talladega following an altercation with a Mississippi man.

The incident allegedly began when the man shouted the name of Lil Durk’s crew, “OTF,” which led to an argument that reportedly ended in YoungBoy striking the man.

Despite the altercation, Williams reassured the public that YoungBoy was “standing on business” and emphasized that this would not affect his release.

This controversy, however, adds another layer to the ongoing tensions between NBA YoungBoy and other artists in the hip hop world.

YoungBoy’s feud with fellow rapper Lil Durk has been one of the most talked-about conflicts in recent years.

Yet, in 2023, YoungBoy publicly admitted that the beef was all for “entertainment.”

He made this admission after Gillie Da Kid suggested the two rappers put their differences aside. YoungBoy agreed with the sentiment, clarifying in a video, “It ain’t what you think OG, all this s**t entertainment.”

This revelation has led many to wonder whether NBA YoungBoy will shift his approach to public feuds and beefs now that he’s out of prison.

Will his early release serve as an opportunity to reconcile with old rivals or focus on a more positive direction for his career?

His early exit from prison could also mark the start of a creative resurgence, and fans are eagerly anticipating the possibility of new music, collaborations, or even a new persona.

On social media, fans have reacted with excitement, sharing messages of support and celebrating his return to freedom.

One tweet,

“Y’all better hide y’all girls, y’all know how fresh out rappers be,”

humorously captures the anticipation surrounding his release.

Others have speculated about his next move, with some joking that his time behind bars might inspire a new wave of music. Regardless of what comes next, it’s clear that NBA YoungBoy’s influence and fanbase remain strong.
