Following two years of suffering from chronic kidney disease—and seven months after going public with his plight—”30 Rock” actor Grizzwald “Grizz” Chapman has successfully undergone a kidney transplant, reports E! Entertainment.

The 35-year-old was announced as a speaker for an event taking place in New York observing National Minority Organ Donor Awareness Day.

The event is set for NYC’s Montefiore Medical Center, the very location Chapman underwent the transplant a little over a month ago, according to E!. He will appear at the event to advocate organ donation, a cause he has publicly touted for months.

Just two weeks ago he posted a message on his Facebook page encouraging followers to “help your fellow man.” He has even formed Team Grizz, which regularly walks to support the National Kidney Foundation and raise awareness and funds for the cause.

“Twenty six million Americans have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and I was one of them,” he wrote.
