Kobe Bryant has traded houses with soon-to-be ex-wife Vanessa Bryant as part of the couple’s divorce settlement.

The LA Lakers star signed over his interest in two properties to his partner on January 5, the same day that Vanessa transferred her interest in a third estate over to him.

Sources claim that Vanessa now has ownership of the home the Bryant’s shared in Newport Coast, as well as the nearby mansion where her mother has been living. The home Kobe landed is said to be under construction in the same area.

Kobe Bryant’s divorce will likely cost him as much as $75 million. Christopher Melcher, a Los Angeles-area family law attorney, told the LA Times that a prenup could have limited the rights for spousal support and some property rights for his soon-to-be ex-wife Vanessa.

Bryant’s net worth has been estimated by some to be as much as $150 million. The Times was told several years ago by Vanessa’s mother that the couple didn’t sign a prenup before marrying in 2001, which entitles her to half of all community property.

The Times says experts also expect Vanessa to receive ongoing spousal and child support, and possibly some of Kobe’sretirement money. Another factor is that the two were married more than 10 years, which under California law qualifies it as a lengthy marriage, and entitles Vanessa to maintain her standard of living after the divorce.

The couple issued a statement over the weekend saying they “resolved all issues incident to their divorce privately.” Vanessa filed to end the couple’s ten-year marriage in Los Angeles on December 16. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of the couple’s separation.

The Bryants, who tied the knot in April 2001, are parents to two daughters, 8-year-old Natalia Diamante Bryant and 5-year-old Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant.
