WILLOWICK, Ohio – Willowick police said both the driver and passenger of a pickup truck that slammed into a home early Monday morning were killed.
Police said it happened at about 2:30 a.m. and when a truck was heading northbound on Fairway Boulevard, ran a stop sign and crashed into the side of a home. Police said they believed speed was a factor.
They said the crash woke the homeowner from a dead sleep and scattered debris through his home but that he was not injured.
NewsChannel5 crews were on the scene, where both the side of the house and truck caught fire. Neighbors said they heard metal crashing and saw another man in the neighborhood run up to the car screaming for help.
Officers said no one in the house was injured and there was no major damage other than the side of the house.
The Coroner’s Office was on the way.
