Seven years ago, Whitney Houston took the stage and performed at the annual VH1 Divas Concert.  In 2012, the performers will sing in her memory.

VH1 president Tom Calderone says the upcoming event, set to take place in December, will pay tribute to the late singer with participants singing covers of her greatest hits.

“We all felt that if any show could pay tribute to Whitney’s music, it would be ‘Divas’,” says Calderone.

Houston’s musical director Rickey Minor will serve as executive producer of the show.

The legendary artist died in February at age 48.
