Classic ’70s sitcom “Good Times” is getting the big screen treatment!
Deadline.com reports that Sony Pictures is currently working on making “Good Times” into a feature film.
Producer Scott Rudin is pulling the project together, and Wreck-It Ralph writer Phil Johnsonton has supposedly been brought onboard to pen the script. Not much is known about the possible plot of the movie at this time, and there’s no who will be starring in the film.
Scott will be producing alongside Eli Bush, who has worked on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Moonrise Kingdom in the last couple of years.
What we do know is that, as in the sitcom, the film will center on James and Florid Evans as they raise their three kids in Chicago during the ’70s. Despite battling hard economic times, unemployment and dangerous temptations, the family still finds reason to smile and keep their audience in stitches. s2smagazine.com
