*Four years after Kanye West famously jacked Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the VMAs, it’s back in the headlines thanks to an audio recording that has recently surfaced.
The website Gawker says the recording captures West on the same night continuing to rant about Swift beating Beyonce in a video category. He’s heard telling a table full of friends that “Taylor Swift cannot beat Beyonce as long as [I’m] alive. … My mother died for this fame shit! I’m gon’ do this until y’all put a bullet in my head.”
West continued to rant about the injustice of having to sit through two Pink songs that “nobody knows,” instead of performing his own single, “Heartless,” which was “the biggest song of the year” and “had the most spins of the first quarter.”
According to Gawker, the audio was said to be recorded secretly while West was at dinner with friends after leaving Radio City Music Hall on the night of the 2009 VMAs (September 13, 2009). “Our tipster tells us that West shared a table with other musicians (none of whom are easily identifiable in the audio above) at the Corner Bistro in New York’s West Village,” Gawker reports.

*Pink tweeted a response to the hubbub surrounding a newly-surfaced audio recorded the night of Kanye West’s 2009 Taylor Swift debacle, in which the rapper continued his rant about the country star winning over Beyonce.
As previously reported, West turned his attention toward Pink, telling friends at a NY restaurant, “What the f**k was Pink performing? Don’t nobody know that song. Pink performed twice! Two songs? How the f**k Pink perform two songs and I didn’t even get asked to perform ‘Heartless?’ ‘Heartless’ is the biggest song of the year! It had the most spins of the first quarter! I don’t know that Pink song! But I noticed that she’s pink!”
Pink brushed off the four-year-old sentiments, tweeting Friday: “Oh come on y’all… If people secretly recorded me and all the sh*t I talk…. It’s all good. All love. And we all still here. Peace please.”
