CLEVELAND – One person is dead after an attempted robbery overnight on East 178th Street just off of Nottingham Road in Cleveland.
Police said around 12:30 a.m. Monday, a man attempted to rob the homeowner. The homeowner shot the suspect who died in the driveway of the home.
Police did not say whether the shooting took place inside the home or in the driveway.
Police spent most of the early morning hours investigating a car that was in the driveway. Among the evidence that was marked and collected by police in the driveway was a car wheel lug wrench.
Police towed the car just before 4 a.m. and moved their investigation to the inside of the home.
Neighbors told NewsChannel5 they heard multiple gunshots.
