CLEVELAND – Police are looking for the thief who allegedly stole approximately $16,000 worth of jewelry from a store on Cleveland’s west side.

According to police, a cashier reported that a man entered Young’s Jewelry store on Puritas Avenue Saturday morning and spent three and a half hours looking at diamond ring wedding sets.

The employee said the man then ran out of the store with five rings around 1:20 p.m.

The store released a surveillance photo of the suspect in hopes of him being caught and the rings being returned.

The suspect is described as an African-American man, who looks to be in his 20s to early 30s, with brown hair and brown eyes. He stood around 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed around 160 pounds.

Police said the suspect also has “no play” tattooed on his right hand.

Take a good look at the photo. If you recognize the suspect or know anything about this jewelry theft, contact Cleveland police at (216) 623-5100.
