Actress Paula Patton (pictured left) has reportedly filed for divorce at an L.A. court from her estranged hubby crooner Robin Thicke (pictured). The “Baggage Claim’ actress is citing “irreconcilable differences” in her filing, reports TMZ.
The pair, who have been together since high school but have been married for nine years, separated back in February of this year, but many fans of the couple kept hope alive, remaining prayerful that they would get back together. Ever since their separation, the “Blurred Lines” singer has been publicly relentless in trying to win his lady-love back, writing songs like “Get Her Back,” and he even named his last album “Paula!”
After the couple’s separation announcement, Thicke held a concert in Virginia — still sporting his wedding band — and stated in front of his audience, “For y’all that don’t know, me and my wife separated but I’m trying to get my girl back.” He then added, “She’s a good woman.”
There have been rumors that the couple’s relationship has been plagued with extramarital affairs throughout the years, but allegedly, the final incident that brought the curtain down on their marriage was when Thicke had an illicit affair with a masseuse. The third-party alleged home wrecker, Jasmine, was reportedly the very same woman whom both Patton and Thicke had been “carrying on a consensual three-way relationship with,” according to Radar Online.
By July, Thicke admitted during an interview on Hot 97 that he might not have been as faithful as he should have been during the marriage stating, “I’m a man. I messed up, and I had to lie for a while. And then I stopped lying, and that was actually good for me, because I was tired of lying. So this whole album is me revealing everything.”
In May, Patton, who had been laying low since the separation announcement, told Vanity Fair that as far as her marriage is concerned, “We’ve known each other since we were teenagers. All I can tell you is there’s a deep love there — always was, and always will be.”
Patton and Thicke have a 4-year-old son, Julian, and Patton allegedly wants joint legal and physical custody of him.
