Melissa Reid joined the Fox 8 news team as a general assignment reporter in April 2011.

Before coming to FOX 8, Melissa worked at WTRF in Wheeling, WV and KDKA in Pittsburgh, PA as a reporter and producer, respectively.

Melissa was born and raised south of Pittsburgh. She attended Bentworth High School and went on to study at Bethany College where she majored in broadcast journalism.

Melissa has covered some of the most high-profile murder court cases in Cleveland history, including Anthony Sowell, the Chardon High School shooting, the Amish Beard cutting trial, the Steubenville rape trial, as well as extensive coverage of Ariel Castro and the Cleveland captives rescued. She has also interviewed everyone from Betty White to Alice Cooper to Lebron James. Melissa also sat down one-on-one with Governor Mitt Romney during the 2012 Presidential Election. She has also filed reports for Fox News, CNN, and HLN.

Melissa has been nominated for seven Emmys, including Best TV Reporter. She was also voted Cleveland Scene’s best local to follow on twitter, and Cleveland Magazine’s sexiest local celebrity, as well as most interesting people of 2014.

In her spare time, Melissa likes to spend time with her husband, Billy, and her dog, Miss Sophie Charlotte. She also plays volleyball, softball, golf, tennis, and is a mean ping-pong player. Melissa also admits to having a mean shopping habit.
