PALO ALTO, CA. –

“Lucifer in the flesh. I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”

That’s how former Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner described Texas Senator Ted Cruz to an audience at Stanford University, according to the Stanford Daily. Needless to say, it’s a safe bet that Boehner didn’t vote for Ted Cruz in Ohio’s recent primary.

It’s also not the first time that Boehner has referred to Senator Cruz as the master of all that is evil in Christianity. According to Politico, Boehner compared Cruz to Lucifer during a conference in April.

Boehner’s view of Cruz is impacted by the battles the duo fought during Cruz’s government shutdown and other tactics that undercut Boehner’s leadership in the House of Representatives.

Cruz responded Thursday morning on Twitter saying:
