CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
Thursday will feel like the coldest day of the season so far in Northeast Ohio with negative wind chills expected all day.
Wind chill is the perceived decrease in air temperature felt by the body on exposed skin due to the flow of air. So bundle and cover up.
The actual air temperature will be in the single digits in the morning and it will only warm into the teens during the afternoon. However when you factor in the wind, it will feel as if it’s below zero degrees on your exposed skin. Cover up all of your extremities tomorrow; fingers, ears, you know the drill! Avoid prolonged exposure to the cold.
A few additional reminders:
- Bring your pets inside.
- Check on your elderly friends and neighbors.
- Mind your space heaters. Do not leave them unattended. Do not leave them on while you’re sleeping. Keep them away from drapes and other items.
