SANDUSKY, Ohio — Thrill seekers will encounter something new at Cedar Point this summer before ever setting foot in the park.
New awnings with upgraded security measures have been installed just outside the main gate.
“The awnings will house metal detectors as a part of the ongoing evolution of our security practices,” Cedar Point’s Tony Clark tells WKYC in an e-mail. “It’s one element of a multi-layer security program, which is developed in coordination with local authorities.”
Clark said the security measures will impact every guest entering the park.
