Breaking news R Kelly sat down with Oprah’s home girl, Gayle King, co-host of “CBS This Morning”, in what is said to be an hour and twenty minute interview to plead his case in recent sexual abuse charges. I don’t know what kind of attorney Kell’s has but he might need to seek new counsel if he was okay with this.
In an interview that will air tomorrow morning Gayle King in the shadows of her BFF Oprah’s interview of Michael Jackson sexual abuse accusers. Seem’s to ask the hard questions that rendered an emotional response from Robert Kelly where he say’s after being asked about being with underage girl’s “how stupid would he be after going through that in his past!!”
The interview seems to start off with R Kelly telling Gayle King that he had said before the interview he would not talk about his past case because of his on going case, then this happened:
Gayle King: These aren’t old rumors.
R. Kelly: Not true. Whether they’re old rumors, new rumors, future rumors, not true.
Gayle King: Correct me if I’m wrong that you’ve never held anybody against their will?
R. Kelly: I don’t need to. Why would I? How stupid would it be for R. Kelly, with all I’ve been through in my way, way past, to hold somebody, let alone 4, 5, 6, 50, you said – how stupid would I be to do that?
Gayle King: I didn’t say you were holding –
R. Kelly: That’s stupid, guys! Is this camera on me?
What is stupid is anytime an entertainer pleads their case on TV the court of public opinion never bolds well for them. If you remember in his case before he stayed low and the drama disappeared, Michael Jackson went on dateline to plead his case and he was never quite the same in the publics eyes again.
But kudos to Gayle King she might have just trumped her mentee, Oprah Winfrey. Stay tuned for tomorrow.
Take a look at the preview clip below and let us know, do you think R Kelly just made a huge mistake by doing this interview?
