Born, raised and educated in Northeast Ohio, Danielle Wiggins is in love with the region. She joined WKYC in September 2013 after winning the open traffic tryouts competition at the station.

Danielle is no stranger to Northeast Ohio media. Before joining WKYC, she was the main producer and correspondent for “The Regina Brett Show” on 89.7 WKSU; Northeast Ohio’s regional National Public Radio (NPR) affiliate. The show won multiple state and national awards under Danielle’s leadership; including an Ohio Excellence in Journalism award for best radio show.

Danielle has also served in production and producing roles at Cleveland’s CBS and ABC local affiliates. She received her start in the business as a paid intern for NPR’s “All Things Considered” afternoon newsmagazine; a show produced out of Washington D.C.

Danielle is a graduate of Bedford High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and master’s degree in media management from Kent State University.

It was a KSU professor who pulled a love for teaching out of Danielle — a passion she never knew she held. Danielle has spent multiple summers teaching high school students multimedia skills through the Upward Bound summer institute at Kent State. Danielle has also lead small group women’s fellowships in Kent, Bedford and South Euclid.

Danielle is married to the man of her dreams and they have two young children together. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public service organization.

Besides spending two years at the University of Missouri-Columbia and a summer in D.C., Danielle has called Northeast Ohio home her entire life. Danielle has learned through the years that relationships are everything! She is excited to be able to connect with you every morning!
