CLEVELAND – Pine Valley is going dark Friday as ABC’s “All My Children” airs its final episode Friday.

TV Guide reports the writers and cast hope to wrap up the long-running show on a positive note.

Their first priority was making sure the viewers got a sense of family.

Another soap opera, “One Life To Live,” wraps up in January. However, the soaps may find new life on the Internet.ABC has licensed “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” in a multi-year deal allowing their stories to continue beyond their imminent broadcast termination.

Prospect Park said it will produce and deliver the programs via online formats and other platforms. There is no immediate word on when that will happen or whether the current actors would be retained.

ABC will air lifestyle and cooking shows in the time slots.

Cleveland restaurant owner Michael Symon will co-host “The Chew” at 1 p.m. weekdays.
